The FPA of Michigan held their recent Destination Education Event at the DC3S on Wednesday,
June 5.  In addition to their guest speaker, Ron Lamparter, Founder/CEO of DC3S shared the history of the Mound Road Corridor  and it’s national significance in the winning  of WWII, along with the role it plays in today’s defense industry.  DC3S is the home to the Interactive 3D Virtual Reality Center, known as the “RAVE CAVE,” and meeting attendees were invited to experience the cave’s capabilities first hand.

DC3S hosted a reception in honor of the 75th Anniversary of the D-Day Invasion, paying tribute to those who stormed the heavily defended beaches of Normandy, France. “Macomb County and Metro Detroit played a major role in producing much of the material, equipment, and supplies that contributed to the success of this event,” stated Ron Lamparter, Founder & Chairman of DC3S.  Throughout the world, Michigan became widely known as the “Arsenal of Democracy,” and Michigan workers designed and produced huge quantities of vehicles, equipment, and supplies used throughout the world, including the D-Day Invasion. Special guests at the reception included World War II Veteran, Douglas Harvey, a member of the Sterling Heights Historical Commission, who shared his memories and personal scrapbook; Holly Swift-Godzisz,  a member of Mad Minute LLC, who sang “The Star Spangled Banner;” and Artist Elaine Chiodini Taylor, who unveiled her painting “Les Braves,” a special gift to Ron in recognition of his recent birthday.
